Once again Michel Fabrizio put everything into the weekend and
was
rewarded with another World Championship Point.
"I was trying as hard as I could to race Andrew Pit on the
Moriwaki
Honda but his factory Honda engine gave him the speed over us and
though
I passed him a few times I knew it was going to be pretty difficult
to
be in front of him at the flag as the finish line is too far down
the
straight in Mugello."
"Then it rained and we checked the FIM rules to be sure that
it was a
completely new race. Before this year the results would have been
on
total time. At the restart the track was dry and everyone had slicks
on
but I went out on the sighting lap I realised that there were rain
clouds and I came into the pits to get them changed."
"The guys had to rush things but we got it done in time to
start the
warm up laps from the pit lane. It did rain in the race but just
not
enough. I just rode as hard as I could with the rain tyres in dry
conditions and getting a point was fantastic. We were ahead of the
Moriwaki and a factory Aprilia!"
